An Engagement Session at the Ivy Lea Club, Gananoque

I am really beginning to appreciate Mother Nature during my outdoor photo sessions. The more I shoot, the more I tend to embrace the wind and the rain and the clouds and the sunshine; whatever she gives me. During this particular engagement session, while on the water, the wind was sweeping Elise’s dress and her hair in all the right directions. The movement gives the photos a little more life, I think.

Elise & Chris were engaged during a romantic, private dinner at the Ivy Lea Club in Gananoque. Over the long weekend,  we returned to this beautiful restaurant in The Thousand Islands in preparation for their wedding in August.

These two have major chemistry, which always makes my job easier. Enjoy. Cydney & Topher Engaged – Kingston Wedding Photographer

As soon as I saw that Cydney and Topher had become engaged, I knew I wanted to be apart of their wedding. Being that they lived in Hamilton, however, I figured it was a long shot. The stars aligned for us as they planned their wedding to take place in Prince Edward County, only an hours drive from home. I insisted that they check out my work to see if we would be a good fit, and lo-and-behold, they booked right away!

For their engagement session, we headed to the beach to watch the sun set behind the rolling hills of soft white sand where they snuggled up and laughed the evening away.

*As a disclaimer, no, they are not models–but they should be! I am still swooning over these.

With Love, Chels.

What is your love story?

Cydney: “We met on the Western Rowing team. I, an awkward beginner rower, and Topher, a seasoned varsity rower. In a moment of bravery at the year-end rowing party I decided to introduce myself to Topher, saying simply “You’re cute. We should talk”. Little did I know, despite my abysmal rowing technique, Topher had had his eyes on me all season. We talked, laughed and danced the night away and it wasn’t long before we knew that this was unlike any other meeting we’d had. Within a week of dating “I love you”s were exchanged and we both knew we’d found something special, real…and seven years later nothing’s changed.”
